We are excited to bring back local favorite poet Rocky Wilson to read and celebrate his NEW BOOK! Join us for a reading and book signing. Light refreshments will be served, open mic to follow.

Rocky Wilson is a poet, teacher and Walt Whitman interpreter, who lives along the Delaware River in Camden, just a few blocks from The Whitman House. In June of 2019, Rocky performed his play, Walt, the Ferry’s Back! as part of the celebration of the Good Gray Poet’s 200th birthday.

Called the Puppet Laureate of Camden, Rocky can sometimes be seen biking along the waterfront with his little monkey puppet, Bongo. Both Rocky and Bongo work in the Camden Public Schools as substitute teachers.

Rocky has written several chapbooks, but his first true book of poetry, The Last Bus to Camden, came out on February 13, 2016, Camden’s 188th birthday. Rocky received a Master’s in Dance Education Degree from Temple University in 1986 and in Dance With Me he blends his love of dance with his love of poetry.
