Due to a high volume of requests, we require that you fill out this form.  If we think your book or event will be a good fit for Inkwood, we will respond within 14-21 business days. If you do not hear back from us, please assume that, unfortunately, we have determined your event or book is not a good fit for us at this time.  Regardless, thank you for reaching out to Inkwood Books and we wish you luck with your book!
If the person filling out this form isn't the author, what is your name and association with the author? (Are you a publicist?)
We ask because every book has a shelf life - if your book has been out for many months, it may be harder to sell without a specific hook, i.e. relevance to current events, local interest, etc.
If no, please provide an estimated print date. We may not be able to host an event with you until you have your book in hand. Please do not drop copies at the store – we will request a copy if needed.
Is this title available according to our standard purchase terms? (Inkwood Books requires at least a 40% discount, free shipping, and that the books be fully returnable. Not sure what this means? Publishers should be able to help with this information.) If your book doesn't meet our standard purchase terms or we do not have an existing wholesale relationship with your publisher, we require that a book be carried per our 60/40 (in your favor) consignment agreement, and that you provide the books for the event. Once we review your submission, we will talk with you further if consignment seems applicable.
Inkwood Books can most effectively sell your book when we can personally recommend it to customers. When you are parts of the Inkwood Community and our staff knows you and your personal story, we can speak for your book when you are not present.
Sadly, we cannot carry every book. Aside from simply size and space limitations not every book or event is a good fit for the store or community. We want to make sure sales and/or turnout for your event will be worth your time and effort.
